Space-charge e!ects in nanoparticle processing using the di!erential mobility analyzer

چکیده
We report the observation of mobility classi"cation breakdown due to strong space-charge e!ects during nanoparticle processing in a radial di!erential mobility analyzer (DMA). A simple dimensionless group, the space-charge number, is introduced to help identify the conditions for which this phenomenon becomes important. Our analysis suggests a fewDMAdesign features and operation conditions that should enable the accurate classi"cation of ultra"ne aerosols with high concentrations of charged particles. 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd. Electronic memory e ects in self-assembled monolayer systems
We report stable and reproducible switching and memory e ects in Self-Assembled Monolayers (SAMs). We demonstrate realization of negative di erential resistance (NDR) and charge storage in electronic devices that utilize single redox-centercontained SAM as the active component; and compare the e ects of various redox centers to switching and storage behavior. The devices exhibit electronically ...
متن کاملOpen trajectories
It is proven that an initial value problem of an autonomous system verifying some conditions has exactly one open continuously dierentiable trajectory on R, whose limit set is not one point. The proof of the result is based upon continuation methods. 1. Preliminaries Dierential equations play a key role in nature and technology because they control their processes. In time-dependent processes...
متن کاملMobility of Bodies in Contact - I: A New 2nd Order Mobility Index for Multiple-Finger Grasps
Using a con guration-space approach, this paper develops a novel 2nd order mobility theory for bodies in contact. A major contribution of this paper is the development of a coordinate invariant 2nd order mobility index for a body, B, in frictionless contact with nger bodies A1; : : : ;Ak. The index is an integer that captures the inherent mobility of B in an equilibrium grasp due to 2nd order, ...
متن کاملNeutrino interactions in hot and dense matter
We study the charged and neutral current weak interaction rates relevant for the determination of neutrino opacities in dense matter found in supernovae and neutron stars. We establish an e cient formalism for calculating di erential cross sections and mean free paths for interacting, asymmetric nuclear matter at arbitrary degeneracy. The formalism is valid for both charged and neutral current ...
